New Delhi: The day ET reported that around a dozen BJP MLAs and a Rajya Sabha member from Maharashtra are talking with Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress leaders for a possible cross over, TV reporters on Thursday mobbed many BJP Rajya Sabha MPs from the state. One of them, Sambhaji Chhatrapati, denied any move to cross over, but accepted that political parties contacted him. “Yes, many political parties are in touch with me. I am now happily with NDA," said Chhatrapati who is a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji and has been a nominated member of Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra as an "attached BJP member".

Chhatrapati is leading many trusts and boards connected with preserving the legacy and heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s kingdom. He has also welcomed the Thackeray Cabinet approving Rs 20 crore for the conservation of the Raigad Fort, which was the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji. “It is important to note that it was the very first decision taken by the new Cabinet. I really appreciate it”, he said. “For me, what comes first is my family (legacy), and only then politics”, he added.
