Chandigarh: Haryana Government has extended the last date of lump-sum payment scheme for loanee members and farmers of cooperative banks upto December 31, 2019 so that the benefit of this scheme can be availed by maximum numbers of members and farmers.

While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal has accorded approval to this effect. This scheme was earlier implemented from September 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019.

He said that out of about seven lakh eligible farmers, 1,98,561 farmers have been provided full interest relief under this scheme till 30 November 2019. Similarly, out of 31,749 overdue loanee members or farmers of Central Cooperative Banks, 5,584 members or farmers have been provided interest relief.

He informed that out of 92,258 overdue loanee farmers or members of all District Primary Co-operative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks under State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks, 4,810 members have been given relief of half interest under this scheme.

He informed that all the loanee farmers and members of all District Central Cooperative banks under Haryana State Cooperative APEX Bank, Chandigarh and all District Primary Co-operative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks under Primary Co-operative Societies and State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks were included in this scheme who could not repay overdue loans for any reason.

Under this scheme, overdue loanee members as on on August 31, 2019, of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies have been provided relief of full interest.
