President’s Rule has been imposed in the state of Maharashtra after the approval of President Ram Nath Kovind on November 12. While addressing a press conference in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow today, Congress veteran leader Digvijaya Singh said, “Initially, the single largest party was called to form the government by the Governor of Maharashtra, then the second largest party was called by him and the third largest party was also given time till 8:30 pm to mark their claim.” “Then suddenly what happened that they imposed President’s Rule in the state of Maharashtra?,” he added. “Under the pressure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, this decision has been taken. We have objection with this and it is not applicable,” Digvijaya further stated.
