Coimbatore: Native Angel Network, an investor in native startups, has invested in a Bengaluru-based renewable energy startup, Carbon Masters.

Native Angel Network, an arm of Madurai-based Nativelead Foundation, had last year invested Rs 65lakh in a city-based startup, ‘VilFresh’, which supplies packaged fresh milk within three hours of procurement.

Carbon Masters, which has managed to get funding of Rs 1.67crore, also received investments from Indian Angel Network and VC Sangam Ventures. The company has developed a bottled bio CNG (compressed natural gas) brand ‘Carbonlites’. “It is made by converting food and agri wastes into clean renewable energy that can displace LPG for commercial cooking in restaurants and hotels,” said a release.

The company currently has a presence in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, the release said. “The next phase will see Carbon Masters take its energy and organic manure solutions to Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.”
