CHENNAI: Online matchmaking service BharatMatrimony has announced an association associated with Rajinikanth starrer Darbar for an integration of BharatMatrimony services including TamilMatrimony and TeluguMatrimony in the movie and promotions in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and North India, according to a release.

The Murugavel Janakiraman-led matchmaking platform had earlier associated with many movie releases in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu and Marathi languages through in-film integrations.

“We are excited to associate with Lyca Productions for Super Star Rajinikanth’s movie “Darbar”. We believe meaningful in-film integrations offer visibility and impact to our brands. Wherever we see a good fit in terms of story and lead actors, we partner with films across India,” says Murugavel Janakiraman, CEO, Matrimony.com.

Rajinikanth returns to screen on Thursday after Petta in January 2019, a revenge drama that performed well at the box office. Darbar, in which the 69-year-old actor plays a police officer based in Mumbai, has Nayanthara and Hindi cinema actor Sunil Shetty playing important roles.
