We are working at helping customers set up their cloud infrastructure and determine what goes on public and private cloud,” Balakrishnan said.
PUNE: Enterprise cloud computing firm Nutanix is starting to see increased business from government on the back of higher investments in Digital India and Smart City initiatives, a top company executive said.

Anantharaman Balakrishnan, vice-president and MD – Sales, Nutanix India told ET that the segment was emerging as one of the fastest growing for Nutanix in India. “Nutanix works with both State and Central government in tier-I and tier-II cities. Apart from this, the shift to hybrid cloud is driving enterprise growth. Enterprise cloud works as a bridge from private to public cloud,” he said. The shift, he said, was happening from hardware to software-driven projects. The company recently concluded a $1 million software deal with a bank in India, he added.

“Beyond this, we are working at helping customers set up their cloud infrastructure and determine what goes on public and private cloud,” Balakrishnan said.

Globally, the company has moved towards a subscription-based model, and in the recently reported quarterly results said it had deferred revenue of close to $1 billion.
