BENGALURU: Licious has brought on board Bhaskar Konduru as its chief technology officer (CTO), said a company statement issued today. The appointment is aimed at strengthening the brand’s technological capabilities, augmenting existing products and establishing newer capabilities.

In its fifth year of operations, the Bengaluru-based company plans to strengthen its pan-India presence and provide newer and more innovative solutions to its rapidly growing customer base.

Konduru comes with a deep understanding of the Indian startup space, given his decade-long work at redBus as a founding member, followed by his stints with start-ups like HelloClass, Pharmeasy and Housejoy, among others.

At redBus, he architected the international expansion as well as inventory system and hotel platforms to help scale the company from its initial ‘zero revenue’ to post-acquisition stage. He has also helped several GrowthStory portfolio companies in scaling and advancing their technological capabilities.

At Housejoy he built solutions suitable for scale with rich user experience and fully automated operational processes. As the first engineer and founding member of Pharmeasy, he set up the centre in Bengaluru, hired the senior layer for the consumer, product, data platforms, data science and DevOps team and built the entire tech team of the 100+ member strong organisation.

“Being a digital native platform, technology has always been an integral part of the Licious growth journey. Top-notch tech talent and enabling leadership are imperative to our success and Licious has been successful in carving out a niche for people looking at pursuing a career in technology. Bhaskar’s rich experience and expertise are sure to bolster that progress,” said Manoj Mishra, head of human resources and administration.

“Licious is looking at transforming the way India experiences meat and talks about it, and technology will have a massive role to play in this journey. Having worked across business verticals and markets, I am looking forward to disrupting the meat and seafood category with never-seen-before tech intervention,” said Konduru.

Licious currently processes more than 17,000 orders every day, with nearly 90 percent of the business coming from repeat clientele.
