The company said they have been able to resume partial operations in some cities.
Online grocery platform Milkbasket on Friday resumed services after suspending operations for sometime this week in view of the lockdown imposed in the country. Milkbasket’s customers received an SMS from the company informing them that they will be delivering by 4 PM instead of their regular 7 AM period.

“We're resuming our deliveries starting tomorrow. Instead of regular 7:00 AM, we will be delivering during the day, by 4:00 PM,” the SMS read.

Responding to an inquiry, the company said they have been able to resume partial operations in some cities. “We are glad to inform that we have been able to resume partial operations across Gurgaon, Noida and Bangalore. Our Hyderabad operations are still shut. We are hopeful to resume services to all our customers by Sat/Sun. We really thank the authorities for listening to our concerns and ensuring safety of our employees and vendors,” the statement read.

This comes after rival firms BigBasket, Grofers announced on Thursday that they will also be resuming their services in certain parts of the country including Delhi. Similarly e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon also confirmed that they are continuing restricted services across cities by joining hands with local authorities for a smooth service.

Since the nationwide lockdown was announced this week, online deliveries had come to a halt and delivery personnel had been unable to move on the roads and trucks possessing supplies across state borders faced police action.

There were also reports of police staff manhandling e-commerce delivery staff in a bid to keep them out of roads.
