Xiaomi launches Redmi 8A with loads of features at Rs 6,499

The company has launched "Dumdaar Redmi 8A" even before its launch in China, the home market for Xiaomi.

Just ahead of the festive season, Xiaomi today launched its budget smartphone Redmi 8A with loads of features at a very aggressive price tag. The new phone is a successor of highly successful Redmi 7A and would be sold at an attractive price range of Rs 6,499 and Rs 6,999 for two variants.

The company has launched "Dumdaar Redmi 8A" even before its launch in China, the home market for Xiaomi. The budget smartphone has been pitched against the Realme C2 and Samsung Galaxy M10 smartphone.

Price and availability:
The phone will be available on Mi.com and Flipkart from September 29. It has two variants -- 2GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. The 2GB variant will be available at the price of Rs 6,499 and the 3GB phone will be sold at Rs 6,999.

Specifications:

* Redmi 8A has a single 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera.

* The phone has a splash-proof P2i coating, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display.

* It has a 6.2-inch HD+ screen with a water drop display.

* The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery and has USB Type-C port charging slot along with 18W fast charging support.

* It has Snapdragon 439 processor.

* The phone has dual-SIM slot and a dedicated microSD card slot

* Internal memory is expandable up to 512GB.

* Redmi 8A also has wireless FM radio that done't require a headset to listen to FM radio stations.

* But it does not have a fingerprint scanner.
