BJP hopes to repeat 2019 performance in Bengal polls
Most of the seats BJP won in 2019 came from the Junglemahal region and the northern part. The party also won a few seats in the eastern part of Bongaon, Barrackpore and Hooghly. Its performance was dismal in Kolkata region and the central part of the state which are TMC strongholds and have a sizable Muslim population.
