Home Secretary, Delhi Police chief to appear before parliamentary panel
The panel may also seek the report prepared by Delhi Police’s joint commissioner Shalini Singh on JNU’s Sunday violence. Singh was to submit her report to the home ministry. JNUSU has claimed that members of RSS’ student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were behind the violence. ABVP has denied the allegations.

The varsity has been seeing a standoff between the students and the administration over hike in hostel fees for over 70 days. Students even boycotted exams in protest, prompting the administration to send question papers to students through WhatsApp and email, a move condemned by the union.
