Meenakshi Lekhi, who was in the Chair, told Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to ask his party MPs to come to the House and seek an apology.

The Union cabinet on Wednesday approved the draft law that seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, if they have faced religious persecution there.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour at the in Lok Sabha, Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury said while such incidents were unheard of in the Navy and the Air Force, the Army had reported similar incidents. He claimed that such incidents were on the rise in central armed police forces (CAPF) and "may be due to lack of facilities".

Responding to a statement by Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury about Chinese activities along India's border regions, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said transgression by Chinese forces do take place and Indian forces too go for patrolling along forward locations. "Our border is secured and forces are fully alert," he said.

Without naming Thakur, the Speaker said he would "ask the respected member to come to the House at noon after Question Hour". Birla made these observations after the Congress once again raked up the issue of the controversial remarks on Godse. As soon as the House met for the day, Congress leader in the House Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said opposition members have raised the issue.
