    • As part of his ongoing crusade against mail-in voting, lawyers for the president's reelection campaign are urging a federal judge in Las Vegas to block a state law and prevent mail-in ballots from going to all active Nevada voters less than eight weeks before the election.

      Five sets of applications proposing and seconding the two candidates had been submitted to the Rajya Sabha secretariat. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu took up the first set proposing Harivansh’s candidature that was moved by BJP Chief JP Nadda and seconded by Leader of the House Thawar Chand Gehlot.

      The saffron party has termed it a "desperate attempt" by the TMC to stave off an "imminent" defeat in the assembly elections and divide the majority community along ethnic lines.

      The US election day is November 3rd, with electoral college members meeting on December 14th to formally vote for the President and Vice President. The votes will be counted on January 6th, 2021 where the Senate will announce the election results. The elected President and Vice President will take the oath of office on January 20th.

      Unlike in many other countries, the US president and vice president are not directly elected by citizens. Instead, they are chosen by "electors" through an "Electoral College".In this system, it is possible for a candidate to win the popular vote and still lose out on the presidency.

      The term of the sixth schedule BTAD ended on April 27 last. Election to the council which was slated for April 4 last was deferred following the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Jagdish Mukhi took over administration of the sixth schedule council.
