Severe cyclone 'Bulbul' at 1430 hours Saturday lay about 90 km south-southeast of Digha, 85 km south of Sagar Islands and 185 km Southeast of Kolkata. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, accompanied by winds reaching up to 120 kmph and tidal waves up to one to two metre.
Cyclone 'Maha' spares Gujarat, showers likely for next 2 days
"Maha is no longer a cyclone. It has become a depression into the sea without hitting the Gujarat coast. Rain may occur in most districts during the next 2 days," the Ahmedabad IMD centre's director Jayanta Sarkar said. However, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during the next 12 hours as the weather conditions there will be "rough to very rough".
Cyclone Maha likely to bring heavy rain to south Gujarat from November 6
Maha has now become a severe cyclonic storm and is centred over east-central Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep Islands, an IMD release said. Maha is likely to move in the north-westward direction in the next 24 hours and then west-northwestward during November 2-4 and "intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours", it added.

The India Meteorological Department said 'Maha' has intensified into severe cyclonic storm on Thursday and is very likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm over east central Arabian Sea during the next 24 hours. IMD said gale winds very likely to increase upto 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph over eastcentral Arabian Sea from midnight.
