The Supreme Court is set to pass the judgement on disqualification of 17 Karnataka MLAs by the previous Assembly Speaker. The bench comprising Justices NV Ramana, Sanjiv Khanna and Krishna Murari will now be listing the disqualification case for judgement while the plea seeking postponement of the by-election is expected to become infructuous.

Karnataka's group of 17 disqualified MLAs to meet in evening
The MLAs attempted to move the apex court praying for postponement of the December 5 byelection to 15 Assembly seats. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the disqualified lawmakers, prayed before the three-judge bench headed by Justice NV Ramana to direct the Election Commission to postpone the bypolls till the court decides the case.
