Govt sends questions to 59 Chinese apps, seeks beneficial owner details
The apps include popular social media platforms such as TikTok, Helo and WeChat. The questions come a week after the government, in an interim order, banned the 59 Chinese apps in the country owing to their activities which are “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
Government launches 'Swachh Survekshan 2021'; states also to be ranked
According to the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, state ranking will also be announced under the survey, to be measured based on their fund utilisation and support to respective local bodies, among others. Hardeep Singh Puri said that every year, the 'Swachh Survekshan' is redesigned innovatively to ensure the process becomes more robust with focus on sustaining the behaviour change.
