NMDC Ltd reports 3.8% increase in iron ore sales
The state-run miner posted a marginal 0.7% rise in production of iron ore up to the month of December 2019 (Apr-Dec' 2019) at 22.01 mt, compared to a production of 21.85 mt in the same period last year.

NMDC Ltd reports a modest 3.36% increase in iron ore sales
NMDC also posted a marginal rise in iron ore production to 18.89 million tonne between April -November 2019 as against a production of 18.75 mt upto November 2018. While NMDC's Chhattisgarh mines accounted for a production volume of 13.33 mt (against 12.24 mt last year), its Karnataka mines contributed 5.45 mt in April-November 2019.
Swiss firm plans steel plant in Kadapa district
This would be the second steel plant that has been proposed in Kadapa district in the Rayalaseema region of the state. As the Centre allegedly did not come forward to set up the steel plant in Kadapa as per the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, the state government decided to establish one on its own and the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for it on December 23 last.
NMDC reports higher sales till October 2019 YoY
Cumulative production of iron ore up to October 2019 was recorded at 15.95 mt against 15.47 mt up to October 2018, while production in October 2019 went down to 2.49 mt against 3.23 mt in October 2018. NMDC reported the provisional production and sales figures in a notification to the BSE on Monday.

ICICI Securities, in its research report, said that renewal of mining leases in March 2o20 is a golden opportunity for the National Mineral Development Corp to permanently enhance its mining share in domestic iron ore production.
NMDC cuts iron ore prices by Rs 200 per tonne
The state-run firm also cut the prices for iron ore fines, which is inferior grade ore, by Rs 200 to Rs 2,460 per tonne, NMDC said in a BSE filing.
