Kerala govt bans single use plastic from January one
After considering environmental and health issues related to mounting plastic waste, the government decided to ban single-use-plastic products in the state from January 1, 2020, a government press release said. Plastic carry bags, plastic sheets, cooling films, plastic plates, cups, thermocol and Styrofoam-based fancy items and others have been banned.

Himachal govt approves policy to buyback plastic
In an effort to make the state litter-free, the Himachal cabinet on Tuesday approved a draft policy to buyback non-recyclable plastic waste, an official spokesperson said. Plastic would be purchased at a minimum support price of Rs 75 kg by urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state, an official said. Purchasing centres in all 54 urban local bodies of the state would soon be opened, he added.
