Bankers have named Jio as the preferred bidder for the tower and fibre assets housed in Reliance Infratel, while UVARCL will acquire the spectrum of RCom and its subsidiary Reliance Telecom. The combined offer from UVARCL and Jio is higher than the offer from Bharti Airtel — which had an NPV of Rs 8,500 crore.
Jio, UVARC emerge top bidders for RCom assets
Reliance Jio had placed Rs 4,700-crore bids for mobile tower and fibre assets of RITL. With this, the 38 lenders of RCom would recover 75% of the total outstanding of around Rs 33,000 crore. This is the highest-ever recovery of dues by financial creditors in the telecom sector that has seen the exit or shutdown of 9 out of 12 telecom companies since 2012.
Varde Partners acquires Wadala office building from Lodha
Built in 2018, the said office building has over 827,000 sq ft of office space spread over 29 floors and forms part of a 22-acre mixed-use development. The project’s anchor tenants include Tata International, GMM Pfaudler and Axis Bank. The five floors in this building purchased by Tata Group in 2019 will continue to be owned by Tata, the investment firm said in a release.
