    Uttar Pradesh has recorded the death of rape victim, fifth time now where the victim was allegedly burnt by the perpetrator in Fatehpur, UP.     Across the state, 879 people have been arrested in connection with the violence while 5,000 have been detained, as per official figures. The worst-hit are Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Bahraich, Agra, Firozabad and Gorakhpur.

    A pitched battle between the crowd and the police took place, with many more protesters emerging from the narrow alleys to join the mob on the street. A PAC van was targeted, along with police motorcycles, and the Madeh Ganj police outpost was torched.

    Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said his government will take "revenge" on those involved in the violence over the amended Citizenship Act.

    "This single helpline number will reduce the response time. Route chart of 112 should be prepared and positioning at district, station level should be done," Adityanath said.

    While speaking at the first national conclave of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Lucknow, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that for him the interest of those who stake their earnings for a home, is supreme. He also added that such people face problems as despite all the money being stuck, they also have to pay the bank loan.

    State law minister Brajesh Pathak told reporters that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern over crimes against women. For these fast-track courts, 218 posts of additional session judge have been created, and staff posts for the court will also be created.

    The verdict, in favour of building a Ram temple, strengthens the political position of Adityanath ahead of the 2022 state elections, especially as no report of violence was reported across UP on Saturday when this paper went to print. He and his guru, Mahant Avaidyanath, have been champions of the Ram temple movement.
