NIA likely to face some ‘tough questions’ from special court, HC

Citing section 6(5) of the NIA Act, an official said the Centre can order an NIA probe without consulting the state. “Notwithstanding anything contained in this section, if the centre is of the opinion that a scheduled offence has been committed, which requires investigation, the Centre may suo motu direct NIA to investigate the said offence.”
