Union Home Minister Amit Shah said security of Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul and Priyanka has not been withdrawn but changed to 'Z-plus' with ambulance. Replying to the debate on the SPG (Amendment) Bill, he asserted that the BJP does carry out any action with a vindictive approach and it was the Congress which took many such decisions in the past.

The decision, sources said, was taken after a detailed review by a panel at union home ministry where inputs from SPG, Intelligence Bureau were examined. During the review, the panel recommended downgrading the security cover from SPG to CRPF after it found that the level of threat to the family is not very serious.
Panel formed to implement Amit Shah's order for 100 days homestay to CAPF jawans
