    "(This is an) absolutely dangerous crazy suggestion," said Paul Hunter, a professor of medicine at Britain's University of East Anglia. "You may not die of COVID-19 after injecting disinfectant, but only because you may already be dead from the injection."

    The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, which became the first academic institute to get a nod from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) for its COVID-19 test kit, has given non-exclusive open licence to Bengaluru-based biotechnology firm Genie Laboratories for commercialising the test, but with a price rider of Rs 500 per kit.

    “No COVID-19 case has been reported from our forward areas including Leh, where our troops stand strong. The protocols adopted by Army have ensured that no other soldier has come in contact with COVID patients and they are being treated at Command Hospital, Northern Command,” Udhampur-based Public Relations Officer (Defence) Lt Col Abhinav Navneet said.

    “From the business point of view, we have been making smart non-woven products and medium for diverse applications around safety clothing … hence, manufacturing face masks and disinfectant wipes for combating the crisis is a natural extension for us,” chairman BK Goenka told.
