  • Including the accepted Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), a total of 848 students have already been placed at the end of Phase I Placements for 2019-20 Academic Year. This is around the same as last year (2018-19) when 844 students had been placed at the end of Phase I, the institute said. The jobs include 34 offers to work from locations abroad, the institute said in a release.

    An estimated 136 cos offered nearly 200 roles to the class of 2021. Several students exercised "Dream" options that allowed them to get multiple offers from top firms. Finance & Consulting firms accounted for 43.2% of total offers.

    Magma Fincorp has a customer base of over 2.4 million.

    Over 960 students at the IIT Delhi have got job offers in the first phase of placement that started on December 1 and ended on December 13. Students have bagged 187 pre-placement offers (PPOs) up to now, an increase of 8% over last year. This is the highest number of offers received by the institute compared to the past years from various domestic and international organisations, according to the IIT.

    The draft placement memorandum shall be filed through a Sebi registered merchant banker.

    Monday was the second day of campus recruitment and the premier institute has received offers from companies to the likes of Microsoft (19 offers), Uber, Goldman Sachs (9 offers), JPMC (9 offers), IBM, Nutanix, American Express, Quadeye, Oracle (14 offers), Bajaj, Google, etc.

    The offers recorded an increase from 85 during Session I of last year at IIT, Madras, a press release said. "In this placement season, IIT Madras has exceeded the number of offers achieved in session 1.1 of last year. We expect the positive trend to continue..," IIT Madras, Training and Placement, Advisors Manu Santhanam and Professor C S Shankar Ram said.

    "We feel that the placement trends are very promising and we expect the overall season to be very fruitful, " said GP Raja Sekhar, chairperson, CDC in a statement.

    Amazon offered the top salary package of Rs 40.50 lakh per annum, slightly less than last year’s highest salary offer of Rs 40.79 lakh made by Google. This year’s median cost to company (CTC), however, rose nearly 11% to Rs 22 lakh from Rs 19.82 lakh last year, said Kanwal Kapil, dean of placements at MDI, Gurgaon.

    A total of 79 offers were made in the marketing and sales domain by recruiters including AB InBev, Vodafone Idea Limited, Bajaj Auto, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Mondelez, Procter & Gamble, etc, according to the institute release.
