Domestic air passenger traffic grows by 3.98 per cent in October
The domestic air traffic last month consisted of 12.31 million passengers compared to 11.84 million passengers in the same month last year, a jump of 3.98 per cent, as per data. IndiGo maintained its lead position with 47.4 per cent share of the domestic passenger market in October, the data showed.

An air traffic controller from Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority saved a plane flying from Jaipur to Muscat, after its pilot sounded alert due to bad weather. "Growth in domestic India RPKs (revenue passenger kilometres) eased to 1.6 per cent year-on-year, from 4.5 per cent observed in August," said a press release of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). In comparison, Chinese passenger traffic grew by 8.9 per cent and 9.8 per cent in September and August, respectively, as per the IATA.

September air traffic grows by just 1.18%
The growth in domestic passenger numbers has slowed down with the domestic airlines registering growth in passenger carriage of 1.18% in September — lower than over 3% growth registered till last month.
