How to verify your Aadhaar with Airtel mobile online
If you have an Aadhaar and if your mobile number is registered with the UIDAI then you can use the IVR option to verify your KYC via Aadhaar.
DoT had directed all telecom service providers (TSPs) to provide an alternative online Aadhaar verification process which would allow senior citizens, handicapped people, NRIs, and those whose fingerprints have worn out to verify their Aadhaar without visiting the store and without physical biometric verification. The ministry had asked for this facility to be put in place because this category of people were finding it difficult to physically visit stores of their TSPs or their fingerprints had worn out.
The online verification facility is available only for senior citizens, physically handicapped or those whose fingerprints have worn out and NRIs, who either do not have Aadhaar or their mobile number is not registered in their Aadhaar details with UIDAI. If you have an Aadhaar and if your mobile number is registered with the UIDAI then you can use the IVR option that is available.
In the same directive, DoT had mandated TSPs to provide an IVR-based alternative which, however, would have required that the user's mobile number to be pre-linked to their Aadhaar in the UIDAI data base.

Here's how Airtel users can use the online facility to verify their KYC via Aadhaar:
- Go to the Airtel mobile Aadhaar verification page and select your category.
Enter mobile number and fill out the declaration saying:
- (i) I am an Indian National and having age more than 70 years as on 01.01.2018 or I am physically challenged.
(ii) I do not have an Aadhaar or my mobile number is not registered with UIDAI or my fingers are worn out and have Aadhaar but unable to do biometric authentication.
(iii) The documents uploaded by me are authentic and if found forged, actions as per the law should be applicable to me.
- Upon proceeding, you will get a 4-digit code on your mobile. After you enter the code on the website, an online Customer Application Form (e-CAF) will be displayed.
- You need to fill out your personal details, upload a scanned photograph, government photo ID supporting your date of birth or certificate of physically challenged, if applicable. NRIs in addition would be required to upload a scanned copy of their passport and visa.
- After submitting the e-CAF, an 8-digit alphanumeric transaction ID will be displayed on the screen which is valid for 48 hours. The subscriber needs to share this transaction ID with a trusted person whose mobile number is registered with Aadhaar.
- This trusted person will have to enter the transaction ID and subscriber's phone number on the TSP's portal.
- After verifying the mobile number and the transaction ID, the trusted person needs to enter his Aadhaar number. One can give consent as a trusted person for up to 5 subscribers.
- TSP will send an Aadhaar OTP request to UIDAI.
- The trusted person will receive the OTP on his registered mobile number.
- On receipt of e-KYC details from UIDAI, the TSP, in this case Airtel, has to store the details in the same e-CAF and a send confirmation SMS to the subscriber as well as the trusted person stating "the process has been completed and we will take 96 hours to confirm if the mobile number has been re-verified after checking the all the details and uploaded documents."
