Rs 4.45 lakh crore tax deductions claimed by individual taxpayers in AY 2018-19

The total tax paid by individual assessees was Rs 3.17 lakh crore, while the highest number of returns were filed by those in the up to Rs 2.5 lakh income group, according to the Central Board of Direct Taxes data analysed by ET Wealth.
