With a revenue of Rs 5.8 lakh crore, Reliance Industries has emerged as the first private sector company to top the ET 500 rankings thanks to sustained momentum in the traditional oil refining and petrochemicals segments and the fastgrowing telecom business. It displaced Indian Oil Corporation to the second spot.

In the latest list of India’s 500 largest companies based on their annual revenues, eight companies jumped up by more than 100 spots while nine companies fell by at least 100 spots.

Cholamandalam Financial Holdings jumped up the most by 210 places to secure 140th spot on the list. There were 21 companies which were present on the previous year’s list but failed to make it this time.
