  • The Centre has set up an expert committee headed by NITI Aayog member VK Paul which will meet on Wednesday to consider the logistics and ethical aspects of procuring and administering the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • The committee on vaccine administration will engage with all stakeholders including state governments and vaccine manufacturers and its terms of reference include selecting suitable vaccines, their procurement and delivery and prioritising groups to administer them.

Karnataka issues revised guidelines for home isolation of COVID-19 patients

  • COVID-19 patients under homeisolation will stand discharged after 10 days of symptom onset or date of sampling, and no fever for three days.
  • Thereafter, the patient shall be advised to isolate at home and self-monitor their health for further 7 days.
  • Only those who are asymptomatic or mild symptomatic shall be allowed to be in home care.
  • Health team from district health authority or authorised private institution or agency shall visit the house and assess the suitability of house for home isolation and also do medical triage of the person.
  • Dedicated tele-monitoring link shall be established for daily follow-up of the person during the entire period of home isolation or home care.

  • Indian hockey team forward Mandeep Singh has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru after his blood oxygen level dropped but his condition is stable, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said.
