Kerkar was arrested in Mumbai under various sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and will be produced before a local court there
The case pertains to the ED's money laundering probe in which the central probe agency had said it had found that Yes Bank had a total outstanding amount of Rs 3,642 crore against Cox & Kings Group of Companies (CKG)
The role of Kerkar alias Ajay Ajit Peter is under probe with regard to alleged loan defaults with other banks too apart from the Yes Bank, official sources said.
The agency had raided a number to former executives along with Kerkar as part of multiple searches conducted by it in Mumbai in June.It had also arrested the travel company's ex-chief financial officer Anil Khandelwal and internal auditor Naresh Jain in October.

Enforcement Directorate arrests Cox and Kings promoter Peter Kerkar in a money laundering case
In October, the ED had arrested Cox & Kings Group CFO Anil Khandelwal and internal auditor of Naresh Jain, under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), in connection with the Yes Bank case.
An ED official told IANS that during investigation in the money laundering case, it has surfaced that Yes Bank has total outstanding of Rs 3,642 crore in respect of Cox & Kings Group of Companies (CKG).

Punjab farmers face water cannons, push through Haryana barricades: Report
As per ToI, farmers from Punjab faced water cannons and broke police barriers at the state's border with Haryana as they pushed towards the national capital Thursday in their “Delhi Chalo” march against the Centre's farm laws.
At the Shambhu border, the Haryana Police and Punjab protesters in their tractor-trolleys faced each other off on a bridge over the Ghaggar River.
The Haryana Police had blocked the Amritsar-Delhi highway at this border point with trucks to stop the farmers' tractor-trolleys, some of them laden with food.

BJP releases manifesto for Hyderabad civic polls
BJP has promised financial assistance of Rs 25,000 for each family affected by the recent rains in the city, free electricity to families which consume less than 100 units and free travel for women in city buses and metro trains among others, in its manifesto for the civic polls in Hyderabad.
The manifesto, released by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said COVID-19 vaccine would be provided to all as per the suggestions of the Centre.
It said an effective plan would be prepared to control the spread of COVID-19 in the city which would enable everyone in the city to get tested for the virus free of cost.
The manifesto also promises free drinking water supply, setting up three new women police stations every year and one toilet per kilometre for women, free Tablets for students of government schools in view of their difficulties to access online education during the ongoing pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections are scheduled to be held on December 1.
